UrgoCrop2Michael J. Urgo, Jr.

Mr. Urgo received his Bachelor’s Degree from Loyola University of Chicago and his J.D. from DePaul University Law School.  He is admitted to practice before all Illinois State and Federal Courts.

He is a member of Illinois Bar Association, DuPage County and Chicago Bar Associations.  Mr. Urgo is the past president of the Justinian Society & Lawyers DuPage County Chapter.

Mr. Urgo practices in the areas of auto, general liability, premises and products liability, construction litigation, as well as subrogation.

Mr. Urgo is selected and serves as arbitrator in all areas of personal injury, alternative dispute, as well as arbitrator in the Mandatory Arbitration Systems of both DuPage and Cook Counties.

Mr. Nugent practices in the areas of product, premises, auto and construction liability. He is an experienced trial lawyer having tried numerous cases to verdict.

Richard is one of six children and was raised on the southside of Chicago in the Morgan Park neighborhood. He attended grammar school and high school in Chicago and then attended the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota. He then returned to Chicago and attended law school at Loyola University. Richard and his wife Denise have three adult children.

He is a member of the Chicago Bar Association, the American Bar Association, Illinois State Bar Association, Illinois Association of Defense Trial Counsel and the Defense Research Institute. He has lectured and moderated at professional seminars.

Mr. Nugent has been honored with the Distinguished Service Award and the President’s Award by the Illinois Association of Defense Counsel.

Amy J. Hemmingsen

Ms. Hemmingsen received her Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Iowa and her J.D. from Creighton University School of Law and has been engaged in the practice of law for over 20 years.  She is an experienced trial lawyer, having tried numerous cases to verdict. She practices in Cook, DuPage, Kane, Will and Kankakee Counties.

She is admitted to practice law in all Illinois and Nebraska State Courts. She is a member of the United States District Court, Northern District of Illinois Trial Bar, as well as a member of the United States Supreme Court Trial bar.

She practices in the areas of the defense of personal injury, premises liability, construction negligence, and products liability matters, as well as plaintiff’s personal injury.

Ms. Hemmingsen is a member Illinois State Bar Association and the Chicago Bar Association. She is a member of the Chicago Bar Association Judicial Evaluation Committee. She also holds membership in the Illinois Association of Defense Trial Counsel. She has lectured and moderated at professional seminars.

Ryan S. Showalter

Ryan Showalter’s practice mainly focuses on automobile, construction, premises liability and general negligence claims. Mr. Showalter has defended construction companies, including both general and subcontractors, in construction litigation involving personal injury, construction defects and breach of contract claims. He had defended both business owners and individuals in slip and fall cases. Mr. Showalter has handled claims in both state and federal courts. In addition, he has taken numerous cases to verdict in both the Law and Municipal Divisions.

Mr. Showalter was born and raised in the south suburbs of Indianapolis. He obtained his undergraduate degree from the Indiana University and earned his law degree from Western Michigan University-Cooley Law School. He is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association, Chicago Bar Association and the Illinois Association of Defense Trial Counsel. He is licensed to practice in Illinois along with the U.S. District Court, Northern District of Illinois.

Vesic v. Elk Grove Truck Repair (14 L 8624 Cook County); Represented a truck repair company wherein Plaintiff sought significant damages for serious personal injuries sustained from a fall occurring on the property. Obtained a complete dismissal of all claims on behalf of client.

Metropolitan Construction v. Provancal Brothers. (13 L 2713 Cook County); Represented a plumbing company wherein Plaintiff sought significant damages based on claims of construction negligence and defects. Obtained a complete dismissal of all claims against client.
